Rome Trip

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

We are excited to announce a new educational trip to Rome for Year 5 students, which is introduced in the spirit of cross curricular education.

Students studying at least one of the following lessons are eligible to apply: Economics (A Level or AS), History, Politics, Physical Education (A Level) and Photography.

The programme aims to cultivate cross curricular knowledge and skills from all the above fields as students will explore Rome through a historical, political, economic lens. Furthermore, all students will become familiarised with documentary photography, storytelling and journaling.

Students who partake in the trip will have to produce a project in which they utilize the knowledge and skills from the above-mentioned disciplines. The project will be graded and can contribute as their project grade. If the student takes more than one lesson then they can select which lesson they would like their project grade to contribute towards. Students not attending the trip may still submit an extra credit project upon consultation with their teachers.

The trip will take place from the 23rd– 27th of November and the approximate cost is 550 euros and covers the flights, luggage, accommodation and transportation to and from Fiumicino airport. Please note that reservations have not yet been made and therefore prices are subject to change.

As there are limited spots for this trip students will have to submit their application form by the 3rd   of October. The application form will be subject to approval by the accompanying teachers (Mr. Zvonko Peljha, Mrs. Angela Ioannou, Mrs. Maria Kkimitri and Mr. Antonios Charalambous) as well as by the discipline officer Mr. Steve Penn.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SCHOOL DISCIPLINARY RULES (APART FROM MOBILE PHONE POSSESSION AND USE) ARE APPLICABLE DURING SCHOOL TRIPS ABROAD.

Priority will be given to students studying a high number of the lessons involved as well as to Duke of Edinburgh Gold applicants as this trip can also serve as their Residential Project.

If you are interested, please collect the application form from the front office.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for further clarifications.
