HARRY’S DAY

27th October 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We proudly invite you to join the Med High “Run for Harry” Team in raising money for a worthy cause whilst representing our school in the 5th Radisson Blu International Marathon, on Sunday 20th November.

Every year we honour the memory of Harry, an ex-student who passed away from cancer at the age of 21. Sadly, this year we have lost another of our dear ex-students, Alexi Pitsillis,, and we will be dedicating ‘Harry’s Day’ and our participation in the marathon to the wonderful life and legacy that was Alexis.

This year money raised by the selling of t-shirts will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities which provide free family accommodation and support minutes from children’s hospital wards. The ultimate aim is to offer families of seriously ill children a ‘home away from home’ so that families can have a ‘normal’ schedule and be kept together during this devastating period of their life.

The Med High Charity Club will begin taking orders and registrations from Tuesday 1st November. Students and staff will have the opportunity to wear their t-shirts to school on “Harry’s Day” which is on Friday 18th November. The cost of the t-shirt is €5.00 and all the proceeds will go to the charity (you may donate more if you wish).

Any student, parent, family or friend can register for any of the races below. In order to register, please fill in the form with payment at the registration desk which will be found at the entrance of the school, between 7:15 – 7:35 a.m. in the morning. The deadline for entry and ordering a t-shirt is Friday 11th November.

The corporate race with a distance of 5km is open to adults or students 12 years old and above and begins at 11:30 a.m.

The kids race with a distance of 1 km is open to students 4-11 years old and begins at 12:30p.m.

If you would like to register for the other distances (10km, 21km, 42km) you can do so directly from the website www.larnakamarathon.com

We are delighted to announce that the Street Food Restaurant Poke Scuse (located opposite St Lazarus Church) has offered to cover the cost of all the Harry’s Day t-shirts.

Yours sincerely,

Med High Charity Club
