Harry’s Day Fundraising Charities

#HarrysDay’ is an event not only dedicated to our beloved graduate Harry Costa who passed away from cancer at the age of twenty one, but also other members of the Med High family who we sadly lost too soon. It has become a Med High tradition to celebrate the life of these students through charity fundraising.

This year we will be supporting two Autism Charities – Autism Society Of Larnaca and a local support centre run by the Cyprus Autism Association.

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), refers to a range of neurodevelopmental conditions that are characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. It has been estimated that 1 in 100 children has ASD (Zeidan et al 2022) although each case is unique in its symptoms and levels of severity. The level of support for ASD children in Cyprus is limited which is why we have chosen to raise money for two local charities who are striving to educate the public on this condition and also to make life easier for these often misunderstood children.

Your support in buying Harry’s Day t-shirts can make a difference to these charities but also keep alive the memory of our students who passed away before their time.
