Dear Parents/Guardians,
In addition to the IGCSE exam, students will undertake the external French Exams DELF, organised by the Ministry of National Education of France. These examinations have been designed to reflect the principle of action used by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The DELF and the DALF are recognised all over the world. They are the only qualifications recognised by the French Ministry of Education.
DELF Junior A1 highlights the first knowledges in French for teenagers between 12 and 17 years old who are in high school. DELF Junior A1 recognizes basic knowledge. It is the most basic level at which a language is used, called the “discovery” stage.
Each diploma assesses candidate’s level in the following skills:
- Oral skills
- Comprehension
- Written skills
The DELF B1/B2 allows access to the French universities and to a growing number of European and francophone universities.
The timetables for the DELF examinations, as well as the registration fees are given below. If you wish to register your child please pay the relevant fee to the finance office and inform Mrs. Christina Polychroni (French teacher) via email: polychroni.c@medhigh.com
