Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to announce the opportunity for our students to participate in the Bebras Computational Thinking Competition, an international event that introduces children to the world of computational thinking in a fun and engaging way.
The competition aims to enhance logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, which are crucial in today’s technology-driven world. It is open to students in Grades 4 to 6 and Years 1-3, providing them with an opportunity to hone their critical thinking abilities while enjoying the challenge. The competition starts on Friday 6th December and ends on Monday 23rd December 2024, with the registration deadline being Wednesday 4th December at midnight. Participation in the competition is free. The first part of the competition will be done online from your house.
During our ICT lessons with the aforementioned Grades, we will be preparing for the competition, by introducing students to computational thinking tasks to help them succeed. I will also provide guidelines to parents on what their children need to study during the pre-competition period and share the necessary resources.
To further explain the competition and our preparation plan, I would like to invite you to a parent meeting on 30th of September at 2:00 p.m, in Computer Lab 1 at the school. During this meeting, I will provide more information and answer any questions you may have about the competition and how we will support the students together.
If you’re interested, please come to the Front office to complete the form and return to Mrs. Caroline.
