🌏 Cultural Evening 2025: A Grand Finale with Grades 5 & 6 – Discovering the USA and Portugal

Our cultural journey concluded with vibrant performances from Grades 5 and 6, as they presented two more exciting destinations: the United States of America and Portugal.

Grade 5 welcomed us to an evening of American music, dance, and history. The students opened with a stirring rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner, setting the stage for a rich showcase of American traditions. Guests were taken through iconic aspects of the USA’s dynamic culture β€” from music, film, and sports, to historical moments and the legacy of the civil rights movement. The children brought to life famous American figures, shared the story of Hollywood, and entertained us with an energetic performance of This Land is Your Land.

Grade 6 then transported us to Portugal, offering everyone a tour of this captivating country’s rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landmarks. The students introduced us to Portugal’s seafaring explorers, world-renowned cuisine, and timeless legends, while also showcasing the country’s charm that stretches far beyond its borders. Through their lively performance, they highlighted Portugal’s beautiful music, traditional Fado, and the joyful celebration of life that defines Portuguese culture. It was a wonderful way to close the evening, as the students’ energy and passion shone throughout their performance.

We are extremely proud of all our students for their dedication, creativity, and confidence in sharing these beautiful cultures with the Med High community!
