Book Day at Med High!

We recently hosted an amazing Book Day event, bringing together students, staff, and the local community to celebrate the joy of reading. It was a day filled with inspiring books, vibrant discussions, and plenty of literary excitement!

This event was another great reminder of the power of books to inspire and bring people together.

First Lego league Robotics Festival

We are thrilled to congratulate our talented students—Leo HadjinikolaIoannis AraklitisLuca Botines MoraPadra Soltani, and Panayiotis Petrou—for their participation and award in the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Cyprus 2025 on March 15 at European University Cyprus. This year’s theme, “Submerged,” challenged participants to explore ocean-related missions through creative robotics.

Our students had an amazing time, showcasing their skills in engineering, programming, and teamwork. Their dedication and enthusiasm were truly commendable, making this experience both educational and memorable.

We also want to thank Mr. Pyrgos for his invaluable guidance and support in preparing the team for this competition.  A big thank you to Mrs. Effie for all the help she provided to the team!

Sinziana Balaji Interview

Former student Sinziana Balaji returned to Med High with her multimedia team to conduct an exciting interview with Ms. Panayiota K and her brother, members of a music band that has just released new music.

The Year 6 Music Tech students had the incredible opportunity to observe the setup and execution of the interview, gaining insight into the behind-the-scenes work of preparing for their upcoming video podcast.

After the interview, the artists performed one of their latest songs live on guitar, and the Year 6 students engaged with both the artists and the media team by asking insightful questions about their creative process and media careers.

Our trip to Thessaloniki for EuroMath & EuroScience 2025 was truly unforgettable! It wasn’t just about the competition; it was about the growth, the experiences, and the connections made along the way.
 
Our students worked hard, supported each other, and brought home four amazing awards:

🥇 Andriana Eleni Kkanti (Year 3) – 1st Prize in Science Poster (Individual)
🥈 Taisiya Kalchnyskaya & Oleksandra Volosian (Year 3) – 2nd Prize in Science Group Presentation
🥉 Kira Garshina & Agapi Theodorou (Year 4) – 3rd Prize in Science Group Presentation
 
Beyond the prizes, we are incredibly proud of their dedication, teamwork, and the friendships they built throughout this journey. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support and guidance of our dedicated teachers. A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues who contributed their time and expertise, especially those who assisted with break-time and after-school preparations.

2020 Paralympics Torch

Our very own Mr. Kiriakos brought something truly extraordinary to Med High – the Olympic torch from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics! 
 
Mr. Kiriakos was invited to participate in the Paralympic Games as a medal presenter. He also had the unique honor of carrying the torch, which features grooves on the side to allow blind individuals to recognize it.
 
The torch’s visit to our school was a moment of inspiration, connecting our students with the incredible spirit of the Paralympics and the athletes who embody resilience, determination, and courage.
 
We’re grateful to Mr. Kiriakos for sharing this powerful symbol of achievement with us and giving our students a firsthand look at an iconic piece of Olympic history.
